Amelia Sweeney joined the Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic Board of Directors with a rich background in service and leadership. A native of Miami, Florida, Amelia retired from a distinguished career in the U.S. Navy before relocating to Sevier County in 2007. For the past 13 years, she has been a valued member of the team at Hospitality Solutions.
Amelia has a deep passion for community service, having held officer positions on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including the Women’s Care Center of Sevier County, the Knoxville Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, and the National Council of Catholic Women. She also serves as a cantor at St. Mary Catholic Church and performs professionally as a singer in the local area.
Amelia earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Florida State University and a graduate degree in National Security Studies from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. In her free time, she enjoys reading — her favorite hobby — and spending time with her husband, Mike, and their three sons, one of whom is in heaven.
