{"id":1180,"date":"2019-10-30T14:47:35","date_gmt":"2019-10-30T14:47:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mountainhope.org\/?p=1180"},"modified":"2019-12-09T17:32:06","modified_gmt":"2019-12-09T17:32:06","slug":"groundbreaking-nov-8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mountainhope.org\/es\/groundbreaking-nov-8\/","title":{"rendered":"Groundbreaking Nov. 8"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Groundbreaking set at Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic is celebrating its 20<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary with a groundbreaking for an expansion to its building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Golden shovels go into the ground at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8\nat the Clinic, 312 Prince Street in Sevierville. The public is invited for the\nceremony and a tour of the existing building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cExpanding our building is a wonderful and practical way to\ncelebrate our 20<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary,\u201d said Executive Director Deborah\nMurph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the first patient walked into borrowed rooms at the\nPigeon Forge Church of God\u2019s youth building in February of 1999, Mountain Hope\nhas served more than 26,000 uninsured and residents and workers of Sevier\nCounty with quality medical, dental, and limited behavioral care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Demand for services has exceeded the supply at the Clinic. New\nconstruction will add 2,400 square feet of space to the present 5,625-square-foot\nbuilding.&nbsp; Having more exam rooms will\nmake the Clinic more efficient so providers can see more patients. In addition,\nthere will be training space for the many college and university students who currently\ntrain at Mountain Hope, including those from James H. Quillen College of\nMedicine at East Tennessee State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Local legislators and city and county leaders have been\ninvited to the Nov. 8 celebration, as have representatives of local businesses\nand organizations that have supported and worked closely with the Clinic over\nthe years. Attendees are invited to stay for tours of the Clinic until about 12:30\np.m. Parking is available at the nearby at King Family Library or at the\nSevierville city complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mary Vance, the Clinic\u2019s former executive director began\nplanning the additional rooms several years ago. \u201cWe were on a roll until the\nfires,\u201d she said. \u201cRebuilding the community took priority at that point, but\nenlarging the Clinic building is now back on track.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Groundbreaking set at Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a groundbreaking for an expansion to its building.
